Many paid TradingView indicators are published as invite-only scripts. They do not show up when you search the public library, and they do not install with a button on the script page. Access is added to your account by the author, and the script then appears in a separate tab of your Indicators menu. This is where most new users get stuck.
What an invite-only script is
An invite-only script is published on TradingView, but only accounts the author has granted can add it to a chart. The author grants access to a specific TradingView username. Your email, your display name and the account you used to pay somewhere else do not matter; only the username does.
Step 1: find your TradingView username
On tradingview.com, click your profile picture in the top-right corner. The name at the top of that menu is your username. It is also the last part of your profile link: tradingview.com/u/yourname/.
Step 2: give it to the author
How you do this depends on the seller. Some ask for it at checkout, some by message. For The SMT Detector, you enter it on each indicator's page in Whop and press Claim Indicators; access is added automatically. Our setup guide shows every screen.
Step 3: add it to your chart
- Refresh TradingView, or restart the desktop app, after access is granted.
- Open Indicators from the top toolbar, or press /.
- In the left menu, open Invite-only scripts. Your scripts are listed there.
- Click one to add it, and star it so it also appears in Favorites.
If it does not appear
- Look in the right tab. Invite-only scripts never show in the normal search results.
- Refresh. The desktop app in particular can need a restart before new access shows.
- Check the username. A typo grants access to a different account, or to nobody. Ask the author to move access to the correct name.
- Changed accounts? Access belongs to one username. Ask for it to be moved to the new one.
Do I need a paid TradingView plan?
No. Invite-only scripts work on the free TradingView plan. The free plan limits how many indicators can sit on one chart at once, so you may need to remove one to make room.
Is it safe?
Invite-only scripts run inside TradingView like any other indicator and cannot access your broker account. Only request access from authors you trust, and remember that no indicator can guarantee results.
